175 days have passed since the last EchoWave song was released, where those days went I have no idea but what I can say is that we are so excited to finally be able to share this song with you, it’s been a long time coming. I’ll Be Your Friend has been part of our live set since September last year and when Sam first presented us with the demo cut of the song we all had a feeling that it was something special, we’ve had to adapt and grow to keep up with arrangements of the latest recordings, it’s been challenging but extremely gratifying to be able to deliver the music on stage.
To celebrate the journey that we’ve travelled while this song grew into its final form we are going to be hitting the stage at Elsewhere on Cavill Avenue, in all it’s greasy glamour, that to us represents what the Gold Coast truly is about. Opening the night will be the purest custodians of our town; Smells Like Nanna’s House who have been hosting monthly events for their residency in collaboration with Tiny Minds Agency. Making their debut performance will be Carrier’s Creek, an unsettlingly familiar trio that was forged in the outer reaches of this city where the city lights can only be seen from the mountaintops.
It’s going to be sweaty and sticky, you are going to love every second of it. Clear your calendars, tell your parents, this is the one to see, the be all end all. Hope to see you there!
